Granted, this was the one game in the series not expected to be close, but after his great ST, this has to be disappointing...

Doug Waechter was pounded for seven runs -- six earned -- in 2 2/3 innings against the Red Sox tonight.
After a leadoff homer in the first, Waechter retired six of the next seven batters he faced. He then ran into trouble in the third inning, as the Red Sox were spraying line drives all over and totaled five more runs before Waechter departed. Reliever Jason Childers entered and allowed two unearned runs to score before ending the rally. Waechter will get the Yankees and Red Sox again next week, so he can't be used in any format.
