Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Damn.. the slip I did not need.. now only a 2 game lead over Boston... And all of this started after the imploding of Pio Aranda as a 4th starter... he went from big consistent contributor to a piece of crap in about 3 sims... at the age of only 35
Batting AVG: .270 (8th)
Homeruns: 219 (2nd)
Walks: 511 (T-6th)
Stolen Bases: 182 (16th)
Runs Scored: 767 (6th)
Pitching ERA: 4.21 (7th)
Opponents AVG: .262 (18th)
HRs Allowed: 152 (T-16th)
Walks Allowed: 384 (6th)
Runs Allowed: 655 (9th)
Bermejo, Geist, McSpadden, Wickersham and Cooney all still doing great on offense...
Crespo lost 2 in a row, which was not in his MO this season... but still is tied for the league lead with 21 wins and is top 10 in ERA....
Hopefully we hang on
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
The Cu-hubs have a 30 - 38 since I took over. I can't really expect much better until I get a couple/few seasons to improve the team to be honest...especially with 2 of my starting OFs out before I even took over.
Monday 8/25/2030 :
Shane Shuford pitches a 4-hit shutout against St. Louis!!
Wednesday 8/27/2030 :
Robert Savino pitches a 2-hit shutout against St. Louis!!
And we got crushed 16 - 1 on the game in between those...weird. We took 3 of 4 from St. Louis somehow...3 of the 6 wins we had for the entire sim
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Still chasing Pie-Rats for top record in all of baseball. Pen seems to be getting better with Hillen in setup (5 games, 7.2 of scoreless relief) than it has the past 2 years. Now expanded roster give a few more arms a shot.
Batting AVG: .276 (4th)
Homeruns: 134 (18th)
Walks: 467 (14th)
Stolen Bases: 176 (18th)
Runs Scored: 776 (4th)
Offense is the highest point its been this season. Finally cracked the top 5. Wade and Lizardo have underacheived and St John took that next step. Not cracking 40 HRs like Kotter did, but he's hitting .317.
The Power has been a nice surprise from Hunt. I thought he'd reached his peak as a 15-20 HR guy. Wish he were still hitting .290 but alas cant have it all.
Pitching ERA: 3.44 (2nd)
Opponents AVG: .241 (1st)
HRs Allowed: 82 (1st)
Walks Allowed: 305 (1st)
Runs Allowed: 522 (1st)
How many wins do you think my top 4 would have if i went with a 4 man rotation the entire year? Top ERA guy but no one top 10 in wins.

Not really my last losing season was 2023. Before last season I had won 90+ in 6 straight years and got nothing in the postseason to show for it.

Saturday 8/23/2030: Cincinnati has no chance in a PERFECT GAME by Wallace Hussein
COLORADO - It was an unbelievable day for Colorado's right-hander Wallace Hussein. The 22-year old pitched a perfect game against Cincinnati on Saturday, showing that he may have a great career in front of him. The crowd of 29746 gave him a standing ovation when teammates carried him off the field on their shoulders. 'I felt early that I was on top of my game. Fortunately I was able to keep that feeling the entire game.' Hussein (21-5) was overpowering, fanning 10 while walking none, throwing 105 pitches. Colorado's second baseman Hilario Herrero finished 1 for 2, hitting a homerun, scoring twice with 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Hussein. Colorado improved its record to 78-52, scoring 6 runs on 4 hits.
----I guess it will be within 1 month before he gets that season ending injury
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
2nd best AL record, and it'd easily be #1 if I was awarded Amador for the 10 pointless posts I probably made instead of slyder. A guaranteed Cy young and 20 wins almost every year, picked right out of a hat. Bad luck and woe aside, atleast Wallace wound up being better than that fat asshole Olsen. Knock on wood.
Glad the rest of my underachievers finally woke up (Loren, Setser). And hey, Bernal Valverde is even resurrecting his career.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Wallace has only been better this season, which he'd only have a better ERA if Olsen hadn't missed 5 weeks.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Desrosiers was a walk short of a perfect game.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Most wins since 2019. Somehow.
All of the top MVP contenders will be fighting in the playoffs. Barbosa, Chad Miller, Herrero, Alvarez, Wonderful, and Enriquez. Heavyweight championship. Let's get it on!
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Playoff predictions:
Texas vs. Minnesota, Minnesota in 3
Minnesota has too good of a rotation for Texas to compete.
Baltimore vs. Oakland, Oakland in 4
Oakland has too much of everything.
Oakland vs. Minnesota, Oakland in 6
I think I would have said the other way around a few months ago, but Oakland has a scary lineup and 3rd best pitching statistically. It's their year, possibly.
Colorado vs. Pittsburgh, Colorado in 5
I won't pick myself, ever.
St. Louis vs. Florida, Florida in 5
Florida has more pitching to outlast STL
Colorado vs. Florida, Florida in 5
Colorado has one legit pitcher, as far as I can tell.
Florida vs. Oakland, Oakland in 6
Again, Oakland has that destiny vibe, so I'll pick 'em.
5 teams with a 100 or more wins, one team with 99 wins, one team with 90 plus wins that DIDN'T make the playoffs. Good year, I'd say.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Didn't make it this year.
If Vlad retires, he'll be 8 hits shy of 3000, all time walks leader, 2000+ runs, 400+ HRs, 5th all time in RBI.
Hopefully he comes back and gets to 3000.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
I'll more than likely get swept out of the playoffs, but it's nice to make it.
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Well.. survived to make the playoffs.. hopefully I stay in long enough to get some good playoff revenue.. With my 3rd SP being a problem spot, I don't think I will last long though... However, with this kind of power in the lineup, and some talent at the back of the bullpen, I always have a 'punchers chance'
Re: 2030 S3SL Random Ramblings
Can't believe my picks bowed in round 1. Assholes.
St. Louis vs. Minnesota; monster offense vs. best starting pitching
