Thread: top 10 at every position...

  1. #16
Seems fair for my team. Too bad Guzman missed it, but I see why. Assuming he's #11 at this point.

And not that it matters, but Guzman and Galeana have no set position, I rotate them as need be, which will change again now that Blalock is gone.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

for the record, ill edit the list anytime a change is made... so bartel and valverde have been added on
I figured the league was pretty stacked. Just wondered how close Gonzo was. Anyway, you will likely be adding Merkel and Azicri to that list too in the next season or 2.

I'd like to challenge Dave Diaz at SS

    Diaz:
    .308-.344-.453
    16 HR
    91 RBI
    21 SB (60%)
    8-8-5-3-5
    39 total errors

    Guzman
    .267-.350-.435
    21 HR
    77 RBI
    35 SB (68.6%)
    8-6-7-9-8
    24 total errors

At the very least, he needs to be moved down.

    Coyle- 8-9-6-5-8 (steal: 7-6-8)
    BA .302, .354 OBP, .507 SLG, .861 OPS (6 SB-10 CS)
    641 PA

    Poovey- 8-8-10-9-5 (steal: 9-8-9)
    BA: .289, OBP .378, .619 SLG, .997 OPS (28 SB-5 CS)
521 PA (if you're looking at total production)

ok the committee has ruled... joel guzman is going to be added back on at number 10, and dave diaz is going to be dropped. more xbh, more steals, less errors, higher obp... although diaz's range is quite superb. so it is written, so shall it come to pass.

defensively coyle is a bit better. however, those numbers are pretty staggeringly in favor of poovey. i wish poovey had more doubles... but having double digits across the board (2b/3b/hr) is pretty damn impressive. i think its pretty close, but on the basis of coyle having done it for a lesser amount of time... and poovey's xbh totals in previous years are damned impressive too... the committee agrees with your disagreement, and the rankings shall be altered accordingly.

Little surprised that Cleveland landed 2 players on this list......conversely though, I was doing a quick sketch of the 10 worst players at each position in the league. I stopped when all 5 of my starting pitchers landed on the top 10 worst

Lamas should be on the relievers list. High ERA yes, but as a closer he does not blow many saves and frankly, he can have 20 era as long as he's saving games.

Also, Enrique Cruz has a far better track record than Riley- who's mostly played at 1B in his career.

    And who's fault is that?

Oh that's right, Saber pressured you into giving Cruz a lot of money. Right.
