King Wants a Trade

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "With changes virtually certain within the bullpen and the outfield, much of the team departed condemned Busch Stadium for the final time Thursday. Reliever Ray King restated his desire to be traded after failing to appear in the team's nine postseason games and an unimpressed La Russa said he would recommend that the lefthander's wish be granted."

This would take another reliever out of a good bullpen. Tavarez, Eldred and Reyes are going to be free agents along with other Cards such as Sanders, Morris, Grudz and Mabry. Jocketty has a lot to do this winter to keep the Cards on top of the NL Central.

King has backed off his wanting to be traded talks. Good news for the Cards but still will be a possibility.
