Furcal was no All Star and was hitting .197. Dodgers freed up $1.4 million in the process.

Is this not the same thread where you called him MVP material when healthy?

Sure is but the fact was he wasn't healthy or an All Star. I know you hate facts but they're hard to argue. Castellanos is hitting extremely well too.

Keep praising Furcal, seriously, his ankle is about to pop.

    He's long over due.

BS Jinx power Reefer, you shouldn't play with it! It's like fire. Or the clap.

How did I jinx him by saying he had no trade value at the time he was traded?

Wait..did you say that when he WAS traded? Perhaps you tapped into the reverse jinx storage supply?

I didn't say it here, no but thought it was common knowledge given the stats and games played. Dodgers still got a good player and money freed up.

Well, that's great that the Cards used the fact Furcal wasn't healthy to give up less than fair value for him. How the hell did the Dodgers benefit from this trade, again? Dee Gordon has been a complete bust so far at shortstop, and the $1.4 million isn't going to get an upgrade.

How exactly was Castellanos and cash not fair value for a SS who wasn't healthy, only played 37 games and played poorly in those games?

Because it sure as shit isn't looking like fair value now that Furcal is healthy and producing like the MVP material as you said he could be.

Well tough shit! If he were performing then like he is now then it would be different but the fact remains he had no trade value. Dodgers got fair value. Besides, the Cards declined his option and re-signed him to a 2 year deal.

That's easy for you to say since you're partial to the Cardinals and everything about this trade has gone in their favor.

Its easy for me to say because it's the truth. Furcal was a half year rental who was playing poorly. Dodgers had a chance to re-sign him this past offseason and didn't but I'm not shocked you don't get the obvious.

The Dodgers never had a chance to sign anybody. Not with Frank McCrook running the organization like a business instead of a baseball team.

Yet they gave Matt Kemp a monster contract and multi-year deals to Capuano and Harang. Excellent point!!
