    Cardinals Give Freese a hand

David Freese suffered a broken bone in his left hand in Sunday's loss to the Braves.
Freese was hit by a pitch on the left hand by a Scott Linebrink fastball and was removed from the game after initially staying in to run the bases. The third baseman said after the game that he may require surgery. He'll almost certainly be placed on the 15-day disabled list. Daniel Descalso moved from second base to third on Sunday, with Tyler Greene entering the game to play second. If Skip Schumaker comes back relatively soon from the disabled list, then he'll play second base and Nick Punto could share third base with Descalso until Freese returns
Freese had a nice .365 BA and .878 OPS before getting hurt so this will sting. Back to back seasons of serious injuries to Freese.

LaRussa is saying Freese will be out 6-8 weeks, Mozeliak is saying 9-12 weeks.
