    Cardinals Struggling Albert Pujols

Yeah, 40 at-bats isn't a lot. But he's hitting .150 (6-for-40) with only 1 extra-base hit all season and has grounded into 7 double plays in 10 games. More double plays than base hits! Lots of base runners left on. Maybe he shouldn't have pushed so hard for the 10-year contract only.

They had a good breakdown of his stance this year and he has some mechanical issues to work out. His defense hasn't been that sharp either so his slump is effecting his overall play.

I fully expect Poo-holes to snap out of it in the upcoming series. Nothing says slumpbuster like Jon Garland or Blake Hawksworth.

He's had solid back to back games so the monster is waking up.

Again, it is only 12 games and he is warming up, but isn't it freaky as fuck to see a .600 OPS on an Albert Pujols stat page?

3 home runs in the last two games. This west coast trip has greatly aided as a slumpbuster for Pujols.

Its almost like Mr. Pujols has done this a few times before.

Perhaps it was psychological, either due to some of the big Cardinal injuries or because of the tension with the contract talks.

Even with the slow start, he's still projected to only strike out 71 times. His slumps are like gold for some players.

Suppose he thanks Arizona and LA for helping him break the slump? Better yet, does Lance Berkman send those teams a fruit basket for helping him prove he's still alive and well?

Pujols hit his 7th HR of the year today. The Machine is back in beast mode.

    Re: Struggling Albert Pujols

Albert Pujols had a miserable time at the plate on Tuesday, finishing 0-for-5 in the Cardinals' 7-5 win over the Marlins.
Incredibly, Pujols' stranded eight baserunners. Just when he was starting to turn it around, he's now one for his last 15 and is hitting an inconceivable .231. At this point in his other 10 major league seasons, Pujols had a combined average of .330.
Pujols is finally showing signs of being human and I am betting the Cardinals front office is loving it to a certain degree. If I'm Mozeliak, I am offering a a six year deal worth around $26 million annually and hoping he takes it. The contract might be on Pujols' mind causing early struggles. I doubt it but who knows.

I just heard he is being penciled in at 3B tonight and he didn't whine about it.
