    Cardinals Felipe Lopez Released

    Cardinals released INF Felipe Lopez.
This season has been dysfunctional in St. Louis, but this isn't the first time that Lopez has worn out his welcome. The 30-year-old infielder batted .231/.310/.340 with seven home runs, 36 RBI and eight stolen bases with the Cards this season. There's no question that he was a dud coming off one of his best season, but at least it came with only a modest financial commitment on behalf of the Cardinals.
He must have pissed the Cards off something good. First it was reported that they just sent him home for the rest of the season and now they full on released him. This definitely looks bad for Lopez and will not be getting anything but a Minor League contract next season.

... he'll then put up great numbers, get another modest deal, and repeat this process again.

Nevermind, it looks like the Padres have claimed him
