Edmonds wants to retire as a Card!

    Free Jim Edmonds.

The All-Star center fielder has asked team management to pick up his contract option for 2007 and extend his contract through at least 2008 so he can retire as a Cardinal. Word is, he'd take less money in '08, too

Man, I would hate this. Edmonds is a great player and another one that could help keep this team strong. This could be huge news for Cards fans!

So you're a Reds fan who jumps on the Cards' bandwagon if the Cards are doing better than the Reds?

Nah, Like I said I am a Reds fan that supports the Cards also. Yes, The Cards are my playoffs team! Why would you care? We have many Reds fans and they cover most of the latest Reds news and do a great job at it and I read. There was no action in this forum either. So I'd thought I'd post some Cards news here in this forum. Surely you shouldn't have a problem with that.

Not to be smart or anything man.

    Aye.

As a Pirates fan, this is very bad news. He's going to be a hellouva player for 2-3 more years, and even after than, he could very easily turn into a Steve Finley-esque player, which isn't bad either.

Exactly. I am sure all fans of NL Central teams not named the Cardinals hate this news.
