National League Mets/Cards: the game that just won't end

It's nearing 10 p.m. on the East Coast. This game started at 4:10 p.m. And it's in the 17th inning with the game scoreless. What the hell. It's one thing to go into extra innings this long, but scoreless? That's crazy. Also, the Mets have somehow managed to only use 5 relievers so far.

I wonder what the record is for the longest a game has gone without a run scored.

This game is so long there might have to be a 4th Molina brother catching soon.

Somehow, DK, you can't actually be surprised. The mets are involved.

Whoever that Takahashi guy is, he had 4 strikeouts in his relief outing. Jaime Garcia, two starts, 1 ER. Who is this guy again? Joel Pineiro who?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

17 innings, 6 hits. Ladies and gentlemen, the New York Metropolitans.

    Heading to the 18th inning.

What is the opposite of "epic"? Or "legendary"?

FELIPE LOPEZ is pitching for the Cardinals. If the Mets can't score here, all hope is lost for this team.

Felipe Lopez got out of the 18th inning unscathed. Brutal, Mets. Just brutal.

Mets actually scored in the top of the 19th. It took a sac fly, of course. K-Rod now on for the most pseudo-epic save ever.

Kyle Lohse was in left field and is now at-bat. Too good.

Without that caught stealing, Pujols' double would have tied the game, doh.
