Cardinals agreed to terms with outfielder Ryan Ludwick on a one-year, $3.7 million contract.
The Cardinals went above the midpoint between the $2.8 million they offered and the $4.25 million that Ludwick sought after his breakthrough season. They've now gone 10 straight seasons without having an arbitration hearing.
Ludwick is making just $300k less than Giambi so its a good deal for him. Ludwick had a monster year laast season hitting 37 bombs and driving in 113. His .299 BA and .375 OBP along with good defense looks good too. He could be a very attractive trade piece for the Cards.
