Cardinals third baseman Troy Glaus left Tuesday's game with a strained right shoulder, and he will have an MRI scan today. Manager Tony La Russa said he expects Glaus to miss a "number of games." Glaus has been dealing with a sore shoulder for three weeks. It does not limit his ability to throw the ball but hurts on certain swings. He received a cortisone shot in his right shoulder Sunday, missing that day's game and hoping the shot would alleviate the pain by Tuesday. On a checked swing in the third inning, Glaus felt the shoulder bite.
Cards best hope this isn't too serious. They are just 3.5 back and playing a tough stretch against teams they need to beat. I'm really not comfortable with Lopez and Ryan playing the hot corner.
