The Brewers went out and got the reigning AL Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia, The Cubs went out and got Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin. Now its the Cards turn to get a pitcher but they don't need a big time starter, they need a reliever. Last night the Cards took a 10-4 lead into the 8th and went on to blow that lead and eventually lose the game 12-11 in 10 innings. There is no excuse for this. Cards have no true closer at this point so they need to focus in on finding one. Brian Fuentes should be their main focus. Fuentes doesn;t have great numbers but can be a very useful guy in the bullpen. He has a 3.50 ERA with 14 saves. Coming to St. Louis and working with the best pitching coach in the game could help Brain tremendously. Damaso Marte is another reliever the Cards should keep their eye on. Cards need help and they need to find it before the deadline.
