    Cardinals Mark Mulder....

Mulder went 6 strong innings in his second rehab start. He could rejoin the St. Louis staff after one more start. But the Cardinals may elect to have him make 2 more starts though.

If Mulder is able to get back to anywhere near the pitcher he was a few years ago the Cards are going to be a threat this season.

Not only that, they are suppose to get Carpenter after the all-star break too. They are going to be in the mix with the Cubs, Brewers, and Reds.

And it looks like they are playing good ball without either one of those players so far. I would be surprised if the Reds are in it.

Don't see him contributing...how many years are we gonna go through the inevitable Mulder rehab?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Dont count the Reds out. They are in a mild slump right now, but I dont see them gong away either. They have a nice offense and they are just pesky. Lets all remember that Looper got out to a hot start last year too, and he slumped in the second half. I cant see Wellmeyer, Looper holding up all season in the rotation. But I have seen crazier things before.

I know the Reds have some very good pitching talent in Cueto and Volquez, but will they be able to handle the pressure come playoff push time IDK. They also have some great you ng talent in Votto and Encarncion and Keppinger, but thy really only have Griffey and Dunn with any experience at all in there lineup. As for the Cards Looper and Wellmeyer will be key to holding up the Cards bullpen. If they can pitc h good at he bac k end of that rotation when Mulder and Carpenter come back and be effective the Carcd will have 5 strong starters.

Well, lets just put it this way, the NL Central is better than most expected.

I agree with that. That divison probably has the most depth other than the Pirates.

And the Astros. They are struggling and sont see them being a big threat this year either.

They really don't have much pitching other then Oswalt, but they do have a few young everyday players like Pence.

Who is struggling as well out of the gate. Berkman, Tejada, and C. Lee are hitting the ball ok.
