After failing to do better, the Cardinals will remove the interim tag from John Mozeliak's title and introduce him as their new GM.
They've called a 3 p.m. CDT press conference to announce the news. The 38-year-old Mozeliak served as an assistant to Walt Jocketty before taking over as interim GM following Jocketty's termination. It's unclear whether this means that Indians assistant Chris Antonetti turned down the job.
So far he has kept LaRussa around for two more years and overpaid for Pineiro. Not exactly a good start to the offseason where the Cards have a lot of holes to fill.
