Cardinals | Teams' starters aren't performing well down the stretch
Thu, 13 Sep 2007 16:20:29 -0700 Matthew Leach, of Cardinals.MLB.com, reports the St. Louis Cardinals starting rotation has suffered over the last 11 games. In that span, Cardinals' starters have allowed 45 earned runs in 41 1/3 innings for a 9.80 ERA.

You can not have your rotation play like crap, and expect to compete for the NL Central crown. No way.

I wonder how the LaRussa suspense (will he stay or will he go) is affecting the clubhouse or even his performance. The Cardinals aren't a playoff team so a lack of talent could be the bottom line, but there has been some interesting things in the news lately that could of had an adverse affect (not to menion Ankiel and HGH.)
