    Great Start!!!

Cards are off to a great start as we all expected. They swept the Phillies and Pujols is a god with 3 HRS, 6 RBI and is hitting .500. Rolen and Miles have gotten off to great starts as well and the pitching has been good thus far. Izzy has two saves.

They are down 5-0 to the Cubs right now so we can't celebrate long. But this is definitely a good start for a team that is fully capable of continuing in this manner.

Well now they have been swept by the Cubs and are 3-3 on the year. I bet they are eager to get to their new home soon.

STL beat the bigtime Brew Crew for their home opener in their new ballpark!

ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals couldn't have picked a better man to start the first game at new Busch Stadium. For a new ballpark with some familiar twists, they went with a familiar pitcher who offered a few new twists.
Mark Mulder (1-0) picked up the first win and the first curtain call in new Busch, pitching eight-plus innings and adding a two-run home run in a 6-4 win over the Brewers in front of 41,936 on Monday afternoon.

For the most part, he was the same old Mulder, the same man who racked up wins and ground balls for the 100-win Cardinals of 2005. But Mulder showed something that was missing in '05 -- the ability to get a strikeout when he needed it. And he showed something else that had been missing since college -- the ability to hit the ball out of the park.

"He did it all," said manager Tony La Russa.
Great day for Mulder and even bigger day for St Louis fans. Did we expect any less?

Damn thats huge, great to see Mulder is back to his great stuff. Truly it is. Cardinals should be a great team against this year with their pitching and hitting (Pujols).

Mulder has two great looking swings and crushed the ball. Pujols hit his 4th of the year and Rolen remains on fire.

Well these Cards continue to crush everyone. But the Reds got to them today to take the lead in the central. This is becoming one heck of a division race already.

Cards fall to 3.0 games back of the NL Central leading Reds with their loss to the Stros tonight. Anyone doubt that they will come back to the top?
