Schilling v. Manny?

That's what I thought...being that Fishercat is a Sox fan and I live in New England, I think we'd both have a pretty good idea of what day was in question...Manny is not a team player with that kind of attitude.

The day was Wednesday, which was a game against Tampa Bay in a dome. They had the day off on Thursday which was a reason for the stir as well. Nixon got injured so they asked Manny to play so they wouldn't have to put in Adam Hyzdu, he refused since he was promised a day off.

I am 90% sure that was the day.

it was. i can understand why manny didnt want to play due to it being a scheduled day off. granted, he should have thought of the team first. But whatever it was, it didnt really give schilling the right to inject himself into the situation. schilling is a blowhard and tries to act the macho part.

They actually won it, so I guess it turned out not to matter. It's more the spirit of refusing though.
