Chipper Jones had plenty to say after yesterday's win over the Nationals after being taken out by a vicious slide by Jose Guillen.
A hard and high slide by Guillen resulted in his spikes ripping the groin of Chipper's pants out, including all four pairs of sliding pants he was wearing. ''I didn't know what hit me, just that it was high and hard,'' Jones said. ''I turned around and said, 'What's up with that?' He immediately starting apologizing. It's kind of hard to duke a guy when he's apologizing. Then I'm walking back to my position and I feel instant air conditioning in my crotch. If he was trying to take me out, he did a poor job,'' Chipper said. ''I'll be in there tomorrow. . .There's no excuses for it. The next time I'm frustrated, I'll take out [Nationals second baseman Jose] Vidro and see how they feel about it.'' Guillen's response? ''Wait until next time and I'll show you what a dirty play is.''
