    Rays Epic fail

    Rays manager Joe Maddon submitted a lineup card with Evan Longoria and Ben Zobrist both playing third base. Zobrist played third base in the top of the first inning and Longoria was scheduled to be the designated hitter. By rule, the Rays lose the designated hitter position and Andy Sonnanstine is batting third in the lineup. Longoria is still eligible to enter the game.
    Clearly, Joe Maddon wants to capture the Manager of the Year Award and the Darwin Award within one year.
