I'll give you this. Perhaps I wouldn't find it quite as annoying if it wasn't my team's victory that was being treated as an afterthought. Furthermore, perhaps I wouldn't be the one to start the thread in the smak forum complaining about it.

But if my opinion was asked on the subject I would agree that it's retarded just as much as I agree with my own opinion here.

Sorry if Bonds is the main story of these games. ESPN sucks is all I can say due to the love affair of football out of season, constant Yankees/Red Sox coverage and no time left for Baseball Tonight anymore.

I have no problem with Bonds being the main story, I think he should get a lot of coverage. What I have a problem with is them treating the game like an afterthought.

They should cover the game like they would any other game, then devote an extra 4 or 5 minutes to Bonds.

Is that really that hard of a concept?

Yes when you are dealing with one of the greatest players chasing the greatest record of all time. No one outside of baseball fans care about games in April. That's just the facts of life.

To ESPNFL, it is the NFL season 24/7/365. After the Super Bowl, it's the Pro Bowl. After the Pro Bowl, it's the combine. After that, the draft. Then how much will Rookie McRookie sign. Then the words "salary cap" gets tossed in the news more often than the words "weapons of mass destruction" and then training camps (Rocky Cementhead holds out for the 56 Day!) and then preseason and then the season.

Bonds the greatest player of his era?

if that's true then baseball has gone down hill

you need roids just to get great

Bonds IS the greatest player of his era.

He was great before he allegedly started using roids and got 10x better after he allegedly started using roids.

But, whether or not he used roids, what he has done on the field is better than what anyone else has done on the field in his era.

I just don't think that this being the case (along with him chasing Hank) is an excuse to blow off the outcome of a baseball game when you're reporting on baseball.

Just give Bonds coverage his own time slot...he deserves it.

    Dee Dee Dee

Yes Duh who are the people complaining about ESPN's moronic coverage of Bond's and treating the score of the Baseball game as an after thought to some juiced up player that don't even deserve the record he may get, oh yeah that's right BASEBALL Fans

that's what ESPN is there for, report on sport games and reporting baseball games to baseball fans. at least Leo here don't care if they add an extra 4 to 5 mins to talk about Bonds and his non Homerun game hell I'm sure none of us care if they spend an entire 15 mins on it, just as long as we also talk about the game, and how Peavy had a great game that day along with the other padre players

I say **** Bonds give him a total of about 3/4ths of home runs on his final record and I'll be happy and if he still has the strength to keep going over more years to try and get past henry and still gets it, then I can say he's earned it

3/4 would still give him 551 HRs

Bonds is a damn good baseball player, love him or hate him.

I can accept that, and if he keeps going and going till he has the Home Run Records after 3/4 is takin away then I would say he's earned the Home Run King Title

    1007 HRs?

Anyways, I believe Bonds is on roids...but I believe half of MLB has been on roids in his era, so the playing field is pretty much even anyways.

Well, in the most recent cases, that might be good for you, considering how badly you got assraped.

Actually, I wouldn't know, it's just been one picture of Bonds being zoomed in and out rapidly with someone screaming in Japanese, and then the final score.
