The hero is on the DL

Here's to the beginning of the end of your career Curt....

BOSTON (AP) - Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling will be out at least two weeks with a bruised right ankle.

The bruise is on the same ankle Schilling had surgically repaired during the offseason, but Boston general manager Theo Epstein said Wednesday the bruising was higher on the ankle and it was not immediately clear whether the injuries were related.
Schilling, 1-2 with a 7.13 ERA this season, began experiencing pain in the ankle the eighth inning of Saturday's loss at Tampa Bay, Epstein said.

It marks the second time in less than 24 hours that a Red Sox starter has gone on the 15-day disabled list. Left-hander David Wells was placed on the DL Tuesday with a sprained right foot and is expected to miss at least a month.

A-Rod's on the DL? Oh, Schilling. I wouldn't call him a hero by any means.

Tough start for him, the Sox were stupid to rush him back and he was stupid to rush himself back.

This could be a rough month or so for the Sox, could make a dire situation for the playoffs if one or two more things go wrong.

It's not as bad as it looks. The Red Sox actually more starting depth than most, and Wade Miller is coming back at a surprisingly good pace.

Ya. Wade Miller is a decent pitcher when healthy. Schilling on the DL. Nothing real surprising.
