    Mariners You guys got your wish: Olivo gone

    Padres acquired catcher Miguel Olivo from the Mariners for catcher Miguel Ojeda and RHP Nate Mateo.
    It's worth a try. The Mariners thought they had a long-term starter in Olivo when they got him in the Freddy Garcia trade, but he disappointed both offensively and defensively. The Padres will keep him in the majors and let him split time with David Ross, apparently taking Robert Fick out of the mix for starts at catcher. If they don't re-sign Ramon Hernandez in the offseason, Olivo would become a candidate to start in 2006. He shouldn't have much in the way of short-term fantasy value.

    Yeah, for a worse C in Ojeda. But yeah, it is worth a try, Mateo may turn into something.

    Torrealba is very good though, so this is an upgrade. Ojeda is nothing more than a backup.

    I like getting Torrealba, hopefully he can hold down the fort for one year until Rivera, and then Clement is ready. If nothing else, I won't have to look at Olivo's name on our lineup card anymore, I was pretty happy to have the guy when we got him, but he completely sucked here.
