I think i might have had Edgar as a higher seed than anticipated, Edgar has had a longer career. But if you look at his and Raffi Palmero's careers, same style, didnt blow people out the water, they just did their jobs.

I said Ichiro. I know Edgar had a longer career, and was a great hitter also. But Ichiro just has all the tools you want in a great player. edgar spent most of his career as a DH. He did play 3B for a little while, but having Ichiro not only play RF, but play RF better than anybody is another reason why you vote for him.

Gotta give it to Edgar Martinez. Maybe because he was a DH, maybe because he was in Seattle (even when they were a major force), he didn't usually get the attention he deserved. He had six dominant years from the end of the strike to the 21st century. He had a few good seasons after that and a few good ones before it. He was also screwed out of a few seasons because the team wouldn't play him in the early 90's/late 80's.

Ichiro is certainly a great player. One of the best pure contact hitters in baseball, impressive speed, good fielding, and pretty much what you want out of a COF who doesn't hit for power. However, Edgar could be the best hitting Mariner to ever play the game.

Gar is the obvious choice. I would've liked to see a Gar-A-Rod semi considering Jr. is probably going to blow out anyone that he faces.
