Silva gave the M's and Cubs nothing. Yeah we are paying them some of the salary but not all of it.

Silva gave the Cubs a pretty good season last year. Can't say the same for Bradley.

Silva gave them a half a year of decency, then whined and pitched his way out of Chicago. Bradley got hurt half the year and got in the trouble the other half. At the least the M's kept their player, what the hell the Cubs do if he had a good year. That's right they cut him and his remaining salary.

So the M's are better because they kept their shitty overpaid player? Still doesn't change that so far, the Cubs got the better of the deal.

How are the Cubs better when they cut him? We both know that this was a craptastic deal but I don't see where the Cubs win this when they cut him after one season. As bad a Bradley has been to this point and yeah the M's were going to suck this season with or without him. He is producing right now and healthy. Still a crazy SOB but he wasn't that bad to they wanted to buy out there shitty, whiny, overrated player.

Meanwhile, the damn M's scored 13 runs.

Because what Silva did last year > what Bradley has done. That's how! Plus the M's are still paying for Silva. Its going to take more than a couple of weeks in April to convince me other wise.

The Cubs won the deal plain and simple, Porter. Bradley hasn't done jack shit for the M's while the Cubs actually got some value out of Silva before cutting him. Oh, and they gave the Cubs $5MM while the M's are paying Bradleys whole salary.

The only way the M's win the deal is if Bradley somehow bounces back and has a good year with the bat.

I don't think a team wins a deal when the team releases the player. Congrats for having 3 months of Silva being decent. The fact is they still ate most of the deal for Silva (which was 2 years longer than Bradley's deal). Plain and simple, The Cubs are 9-9, the Mariners are 6-13. It's not like they are blazing trails either.

Bradley and Silva's deals are both up after this season. The M's ate all of Bradley's and $9 million of Silva's plus the Cubs got more value out of the deal so far. I am failing to see how the Cubs didn't win this deal. 3 months of a decent Silva > Bradley's contributions. Bradley's going to have to do a lot for you to convince anyone that the M's got the better of this deal.

I fail to see how cutting a person despite the 3 months of decent player says they won the deal either. They paid him to go away.

And the M's are helping to pay. I guess we fail to see your side of things.

Yeah, but the Cubs managed to quickly get rid of a pair of cancers, the Mariners are still clinging to one. Advantage, Cubs. (both teams still suck, though)

I would also imagine that since you're rebuilding, and going through a lot of young guys, the last thing you want is Milton Bradley around to corrupt or possibly kill one of the rookies in a dark ally after the rookie brings him a bad cup of coffee. I'm just sayin'
