Mariners Opening Day: Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A's

    Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A's

Felix Hernandez (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs Ben Sheets (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

    Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (Oakland, California)
    7:05 PM PDT Start

The A's and M's hookup for the first of seven games within the 1st 10 days. Felix Hernandez hopes to build on a stellar 2009. He will match up against very talented, yet injury prone Ben Sheets. It should be a good pitchers duel.

    Prediction: M's 3, A's 1
    Winning Pitcher: Hernandez
    Losing Pitcher: Sheets
    Save: David Aardsma
    HRs: Jack Cust (1)
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)

TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

Pretty hard to root against Felix, but Sheets is/was a great pitcher. It'd be real nice to see a pitcher's duel here.

Re: Opening Day: Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A's

I recently upgraded my cable, and now I get the the Canadian broadcaster of the Mariners games. So this is the game I am watching tonight.
May be watching a lot more M's games this year if they are able to keep up in the standings.

Awesome prediction of Jack Cust hitting a homerun. If he does that from the waiver wire, he is officially a baseball God.

id Griffey even get a chance at the Opening Day HR record? He is tied with Frank Robinson with 8 unless he got one today.

Re: Opening Day: Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A's

The HR prediction was an epic fail. The A's basically threw the game away in the 8th with the pen falling apart for the M's. It was an entertaining 7th inning to the end. I was watching Butler's magical run the whole game lol.

Looks like I was the only one to get the poll prediction right. Brandon League FTW.

It's easy to do when you did it after the game.

Enjoy the gift of a win. Those 4 errors and 3 earned runs make a nice present.

Re: Opening Day: Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A's

So was sending Sean White out there in the 7th to get out of Felix's jam. Have no idea why we didn't use Lowe or League, but at least we got the win. Interested to see what kind of performance Snell turns in.

And more good news for M's fans, Lee is feeling fine, and Bedard had no pain after throwing a bullpen session and is ahead of his schedule.
