Who is going to be in the Mariners rotation besides Bedard and I wonder what the M's could get if they decided to move him at the deadline.

    The Mariners Rotation should be:
    Felix
    Bedard
    Morrow
    Silva
    Washburn/Roland-Smith.

Its still a race with Washburn and Roland-Smith for the 5th spot.

Chad Cordero (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday, but wasn't exactly pleased with the results.

Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu won't appoint a closer until next Friday or Saturday, when the team travels to Las Vegas for an exhibition game against the Rockies.

Beltre thinks Mariners could surprise | Mariners.com: News

He has noticed some similarities between this Mariners team and the Dodgers club he played for in 2004.

"We had a decent team, but people didn't expect us to win," Beltre said. "We started playing together, and had such a good chemistry. Everything we did was fun, and we ended up winning the division. It was the most fun I've ever had as a group."

Sitting in front of his locker on Tuesday morning at the Peoria Sports Complex, Beltre said he believes the Mariners could be a "surprise team" this season.

"A lot of people might not expect much from us, especially after what happened last year," Beltre said, "but if we do the little things, get guys on the right track, stay healthy and we play as a team, we can do things people don't expect us to do."
Don't kid yourself Beltre. The M's bullpen is a muddle mess and the rotation is now going to be uncertain with Morrow going to the pen full-time.

Jim Street Vet Scribe : Some reflections on Camp Wak

Some interesting things on this blog. Wakamatsu is very different from McLaren. Im also shocked that Tui and Clement didn't make the team. I think they can contribute now. I can understand with Beltre its tough for Tui to start or make the team, but he has vastly improved his game. Its also a shame that Chris Shelton was hard pressed to make this team with Jr and Sweeney ahead of him.

    Depth Chart | Mariners.com: Team

This is the projected depth chart for Opening Day.

Only Brandon Morrow was the only holdover from last years opening day roster (Lowe was on the DL, Batista was in the rotation).

The Mariners broke camp without a lefty in the bullpen and Tuiasosopo replaces Ichiro on the active roster. Here is a story: Mariners finalize Opening Day roster | MLB.com: News

    Re: Mariners 09 News

That was expected when Ichiro went down. But they do need an effective lefty reliever. And about 6 good arms and 17 good hitters.
