The Mariners also argued that some open areas adjacent to the stadium are included on a list of “neighborhood parks, open space, recreational features and public-private open spaces” in the Downtown Planning Study Final Environmental Impact Statement.

The KeyArena is architectually hopeless. Which genius decided that it would cool to have a giant computer monitor stand as the roof?

But Lawmakers in Olympia want to keep this thing the way it is. Does that make sense? Yet they want to add a 4 dollar tax to all liquor in this state (we are taxed enough as it is). Sales tax has went up a half a percent to 9.5% in King County and 9 everywhere else.

That's the upshot of a decision issued Friday by a King County Superior Court judge, who cleared the way for a proposed Deja Vu strip club -- adult cabaret in the court's parlance -- near Safeco Field.

Over the objections of the Seattle Mariners and the public utility that operates the field, Judge John Erlick found that the City of Seattle did not err in permitting the proposed First Avenue club.

Erlick rejected the Mariners assertion that the City Council meant to keep strip clubs at least 800 feet away from "areas where children congregate" or sports arenas. That language is absent from the city ordinance drafted after Seattle's wholesale ban on new strip clubs was rejected as unconstitutional.

M's have 30 days to appeal.

They have Qwest Field and several normal clubs within walking distance. Pioneer Square is a 5 minute drive from the stadium.

A's fans should know the feeling of losing more than the M's right now.

we do. they should put one in the Coliseum. maybe more fans would show up. that being said, the A's do have the 3rd more WS titles...just nothing in 20 years.
