ESPN - Mel Stottlemyre won't return as Seattle Mariners pitching coach

Former Oakland Athletics and New York Mets coach Rick Peterson is rumored to be a candidate to replace Stottlemyre.

Peterson would be a very nice pickup for the Mariners. Leo Mazzone is available too. Those two are about as good as they come and the M's need all the pitching help they can get, even if it comes from their coaches. I hope the Mariners get one of the two.

ESPN - Rick Adair, John Wetteland join Seattle Mariners' coaching staff

Wetteland is a former All-Star closer who was the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals in 2006.

He lost his job in June that season after Nationals manager Frank Robinson said he asked Wetteland several times to get the team's relievers to focus more and cut down on pranks, such as lighting firecrackers.

Sounds like a good signing of Wetteland since the M's will need a lot of fun to take their mind off all the losing.
