I think this is going to be a 7-6 M's win. Im going to bank on the Jays scoring in the top of the 1st then Moyer will probably settle down. Lilly wont last beyond the 6th inning.

WOW Lilly has a high ERA. Knowing the Mariners he'll pitch like another Cy Young...

Struggling Jamie Moyer takes another shot at becoming the winningest pitcher in Mariners history when Seattle opens three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays at Safeco Field.

Moyer got off to a fantastic start this season, going 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA in his first five outings to tie former Mariner Randy Johnson, now with the New York Yankees, with 130 career wins for Seattle.

Moyer, a 42-year-old left-hander, has been stuck on 130 ever since, going 0-2 over his last five starts while allowing 26 runs and 40 hits in 21 2-3 innings.

Moyer appeared to shake off the rough stretch in a 3-1 loss to Baltimore on Wednesday. He gave up three runs in the first inning, but shut out the hot-hitting Orioles through the next seven.

``I felt like I did everything I set out to do,'' said Moyer, who threw 96 pitches in his first complete game since a 4-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox last July 11.

Seattle will try for its third straight win after a 10-9 victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Rookie Jeremy Reed homered and drove in a career-high four runs for the Mariners, whose only other three-game winning streak this season came from April 11-14.

Bret Boone, just 2-for-26 in his previous seven games, hit his 250th career homer and drove in two runs for Seattle, which has won three of its last four at home.

``Any time you go out and hit a home run and drive in a couple runs and help your team, that's what it's all about,'' Boone said.

Catcher Pat Borders, who hit a game-winning homer Saturday, was in the lineup Sunday and had an RBI. He started consecutive games for Seattle for the first time since being promoted from Triple-A Tacoma on May 20. Seattle manager Mike Hargrove said that the 42-year-old Borders will regularly catch for starters Aaron Sele and Moyer.

Roy Halladay pitched a two-hitter for his second shutout of the season to lead the Blue Jays in a 4-0 win over Minnesota on Sunday.

Russ Adams and Vernon Wells homered for the Blue Jays, who avoided a three-game sweep.

Rookie Aaron Hill went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Alex Rios drove in another run with a pinch hit for Toronto, which begins a 13-game road trip.
As said before, IM GLAD WE AVOID HALLADAY.

Halladay was very good yesterday against the Twins. Twins had no prayer against him. This was over by 1 hour too.

Moyer has looked good. He was throwing the ball down as Grover would say.

Jays get the first hit of the game.

    Slugfest? Talk about oxymoron.

It's scoreless after 3 innings and there has been 1 hit combined in this game.

Jeremey Reed is really hitting now. Good for him.

That bullet by Richie was something else. As soon as Richie hit the ball, Neihaus knew that was gone.

Adrian Beltre is just having a hard luck. He is hitting the ball hard which is good. Unfortunately, the fielders make great plays.

Mariners are 3-0 since Grover cussed them out. It's amazing what cussing can do for a team. Grover was laidback all this time. He had to explode at some point.

Good game, nice win by the Mariners 4-3. Lilly looked great through 3 innings, but really fell apart the second time through and was getting hit left and right. The Jays bullpen did an excellent job once Lilly came out, but the Jays fell one run short.

I'm looking forward to the rematch tonight.

    What's the pitching matchup?
