    Stottlemyre Named Pitching Coach

The Mariners are planning to name Mel Stottlemyre pitching coach.
Two years after resigning as the Yankees' pitching coach, Stottlemyre will be coming out of retirement at age 66. The Mariners are also trying to add another Yankee to John McLaren's staff in third-base coach Larry Bowa.
Looks like the Mariners are taking next year serious and realize they can contend for a title next year. Great pick up for the M's.

I am very interested in this move. I find it rather weird. Mel goes from NYC to Seattle. Must need a more laid back atmosphere, huh?

Great move, Mel is the man.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Watch out for Felix Hernandez, if he listens to Mel. Mel could make the difference in his career.

Sports Radio up here are really high on Mel. I think this is a vastly improved pitching coach for this young bullpen. Now if the M's can get a couple of solid SPs that actually keep the ball in play (i.e Josh Fogg, Paul Byrd off the Roids etc). They could be dangerous next year.

Yea, this was a pretty good move, but I've heard that he ****ed up Gooden's career and could do so to Felix's too?
