Series Overview- Red Sox vs Mariners

Outlook- Boston has been really hot as of late and have pulled into one game of the Balitmore O's. Winning 4 of their last 5 games. Seattle has lost 10 of 11 games and got swept by the hated Yankees in the middle of the week.

    Probable Starters

Today- Jeremi Gonzalez (1-0, 4.22) vs Joel Pineiro (2-3, 5.66)
This is a rematch of a May 8th affair in which Jeremi only allowed 4 hits and 2 earned runs over 5 and 2/3 innings. Jeremi is 2-1 vs the Seattle in his carrer, posting a 3.00 ERA. Joel Pineiro continues to be consistently bad this season allowing 40 hits in 35 IP. Boston hasnt been nice to him for hes 2-5 with a Cy Young like 7.08 ERA. Boston also hits .329 vs Joel.

Tomorrow- Wade Miller (0-0, 3.60) vs Ryan Franklin (2-4, 4.50)
This is also a rematch of the 2nd half of the May 8th doubleheader. Wade Miller did pretty good in his 1st start back, strking out 6 and walking just 1 in 5 innings pitched. Let it be known that Ryan Franklin is 0-2 at home but opponents have a .203 BA and a 1.24 WHIP vs him this season.

Sunday- Tim Wakefield (4-1, 3.18) vs Gil Meche (2-2, 5.14)
Tim Wakefield is becoming ageless and it seems likes he reinvents himself. Gil is a damn enigma this season. but he fairs well vs Boston. Hes 2-1 with a 3.98 ERA with a CG SHO around his belt. It should be a pretty good matchup but Timmy is just dealing right now.

    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

Hopefully, the M's will have some home-cooking luck against Boston and NY.

Right now, the M's need to start Wiki Gonzalez. The Tacoma News Tribune (www.tribnet.com) said Bavasi might be shaking things up.

    Story On Bavasi

    Thats the offical story.

Jorge Campillo has a 4 to 1 K/BB and has a 3.00 ERA in 6 starts and he is the most ready right now. Hes striking out a batter an inning in Tacoma.

Speaking of Bavasi, could he be feeling the heat soon.

I hope not. I think he needs at least two years to turn this around. What he and Dan Evans needs to do is replenish the farm system and go from there. I think Bavasi is doing a decent job after the mess Gillick created.

Bavasi isnt not feeling the heat in Seattle right now. In Fact hes getting more heated over the team not performing than Gillick ever did. The Farm System needs more hitting prospects IMO.

Bavasi needs at least 4 years just to improve the farm system and etc. You can't fault him yet. At least, he knows the teams needs and he is working on it. Was he the right choice for the job? No especially with Paul Depodesta or Josh Brynes having interest in that position. With that said, I think Bavasi has hired good people to help him out in scouting and etc.

I think Bavasi was a good choice, with the people out there. As much as i would have wanted Depodesta, Bavasi has done a good job so far. Gillick put that team in a mess and he might not want to step in Seattle for awhile. Hes on the level of Wally "Willy Wonka" Walker when it comes to popularity.

Gillick did a good job in his first year there. Unfortunately, he did lousy in 2001 and 2002. M's had the best record, but this team needed a bat and a horse and Gillick just stood pat. Then Gillick could not get Lou that big bat the following year and when that did not happen, Lou was so frustrated to the point that quit. In Gillick's last year, he basically called the whole team out for not trying in the final three-game series at Anaheim and then Edgar called Gillick out at Anaheim. That was it for Gillick.

Gillick should have had some idea that that team was one of the oldest in baseball. Its ironic he left when the M's ended up horrible.

Lou and Pat knew what they were doing when they left town.

I like Pat Gillick, but he had zero visionary or creativity. He is like McHale.

    No McHale is worse.

How long before Felix starts in Seattle?

Felix will be starting this summer. There is no point keeping him in the minors if he is dominating minor league baseball.

McHale is that bad, eh. You know what's sad. Timberwolves may be the worse franchise run of all MN Sports. Twins are run well. Vikings got a good management. The four-year old Minnesota Wild have a good hockey franchise. Timberwolves get that disgrace distinction. McHale has no clue what the hell he is doing.

Felix Hernandez (5-2, 2.30) and Jorge Campillo (4-1, 3.00) should be called up soon.
