So starts the cycle of Weaver getting big money, sucking badly, moving from team to team before La Russa takes a chance on him and he becomes a hero.
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

    What he said.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

The Mariners and Jeff Weaver are likely to agree to a one-year contract, according to the Seattle Times.

I'm not sure which Jeff Weaver will show up. But if its the playoff version of him, ill take him as our #2 starter.

Once again this just shows how this years market has gotten out of hand.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Rhodes, meanwhile, signed a minor-league contract and received an invitation to spring training. General manager Bill Bavasi said the 37-year-old Rhodes "is going to get a tremendous opportunity to make the club. You can never have too much left-handed pitching in the bullpen."
This was lost in that whole article. THEY BETTER NOT LET HIM MAKE THE DAMN ROSTER.

    Looks like a done-deal: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slu...e&type=fantasy
This move has a lot of down-side to it. If Weaver regresses, the Mariners are out a lot of money with little to show for it. If he does well, it is a good move.
