The Mariners have made a big step toward contention. They are solid in the infield. The corner outfield positions are set, with Ichiro and Ibanez in place. CF may still be a problem, but Reed is good defensively and a work in progress offensively.
Their pitching is not deep, but has some talented arms -- Hernandez and Washburn are pretty good and Baek and Woods could also be regular starters next season. The bullpen is anchored by an up-and-comer, JJ Putz (who isn't bad now, but will be better the more experience he gains). Their set-up guys are thin, but they have some talented arms to look at this spring.
    Bench is not deep, either.
    Overall grade for 2006 -- C+.

I think we are a B-, it thought we could've done better but Raul was outstanding.

Raul played solid as did ichiro, if ichiro plays center next season which he has already said he doesn't mind we should be able to plug in snelling or jones in right. Kenji played awesome for his first year in the MLB. Richie did ok, beltre needs to get better. Jose did well as did Yuni. Starting pitching was what killed us. I really believe if we can get some starting pitching this team can contend in the next couple years
