Marlins claimed outfielder Joe Borchard off waivers from the Mariners.
Nothing to lose. Borchard isn't going to be a long-term option in center field for the Marlins, but he's an upgrade over Reggie Abercrombie and Eric Reed for now. We're guessing that Borchard and Abercrombie will share time, with Reed getting sent back to the minors when Jeremy Hermida comes off the DL.

Great move by Florida, and probably the right move by Seattle letting him go, but I've always loved Joe's potential.
