Just off the top of my head, I have a HARD time coming up with any decent Giants catcher. I have to brush up on my trivia before the forum game starts, damn.

I say Manwaring because he was a good defensive catcher who came up with bighits and he gave me his batting glove

Also I just realized that the thread said SAN FRANCISCO Giants and I will be penalized for some of my picks.

Brenly was a goofy looking son of a ***** behind the plate. He was like 175 and playing catcher. Not a bad pick though. He will be managing again soon, possibly when Baker leaves Chitown.

When I chose Mike Matheny as my catcher it was for more than one reason. First the Giants have not had a great hitter in that position since they moved from NY. Second he is one of the beat handlers of pitchers in the game, and this is a position that is not just about how well you hit. JMO

    Ooops....Catcher - Tom Haller

  15. #15
I'd say Tom Haller had the best career at catcher of anyone that played a decent amount of time in San Francisco.

    Take a look

Also, although Cepeda wasn't very good in LF, I had to have him in the lineup. One of the greatest Giants of ALL TIME. Found myself in the same dilemma that the Giants were in themselves trying to get Willie Mc and Orlando in the lineup at the same time. Heck, even Willie had a stint in LF. That was ugly.
