J.T. Snow and Brett Tomko will no longer be Giants as they were not offered arbitration. Mark Sweeney was signed to a two year deal to replace Snow. I don't mind this deal at all. I will miss Snow but I have a feeling he will find a home somewhere else. The Pads have already expressed interest. I see Sweeney sharing time with Neikro and Feliz at first.

The Giants have made an offer to Morris for two years but no word on the money aspect. The Cards are likely to resign Morris now that they have lost out on Burnett. I am still hoping for a possible Washburn or Millwood deal if we don't get Morris.

Schmidt, Morris, Lowry and Cain give the Giants the best rotation in the division. It will be interesting to see who will be #5. Hennessey and Corriea have not proved they can do it full time but we will see who is non-tendered Dec. 20th.

Matt Cain will have a spot in the Giants rotation no matter what this season barring injury. Giants skipper Felipe Alou told the Associated Press that Cain's stuff reminds him of Tom Seaver and that he saw all he needed to last season to put Cain in the rotation no questions asked.

Matt Cain will have 12 to 15 wins at least! You can count on it!

This could be the best starting rotation from 1 thru 5 in the last ten years for the Giants. Please if you can think of a better starting five let me know.

    GO GIANTS!!

Not bad, but do you think that it was as good as this years? I don't think it
    comes close!

How would we know that? We haven't played "this year" yet!

    Ok, compare:

    2000 vs. 2006
    Hernandez vs Schmidt
    Ortiz vs. Morris
    Estes vs. Lowery
    Rueter vs. Cain
    Gardner vs. Wright

Now for me I will take Schmidt every time over Hernandez.

Morris looks to be better than Ortiz over the long haul.

Estez at his best might be better than Lowery but Lowery I feel has not reached his prime.

Rueter one of my all time great S.F. players but he does not come close to Cain even now.

Gardner vs. Wright might be a push. Both journeymen pitchers!

No they have not played a game but if I had to choose give me this staff every time. JMO
