    Giants update

Sorry, I was away this weekend as I had a birthday. While I was away, a lot happened. Gaylord Perry's number was retired, Alfonzo and Grissom have come back off the DL and the Giants lost another series to the Marlins. I am very happy to see Alfonzo back as he is ripping the ball in his return. Pitching has still been piss poor but an ok showing from Kevin Corriea still got him a loss. The Giants start a three game series against the Cubs tonight with Schmidt on the hill. And no, Schmidt isn't going anywhere.

He might after he told Alou he is using to much Relief pitching.

He is the player. Not the Manager.

Excuse me? To what are you referring? The Schmidt thing? If so, managers don't make trades either. Sabean has said it and stated it doesn't make sense to get rid of him.

When he was pitching the other day.

I never said that managers do make trades. But Managers can talk to the GM about the issue.

Yeah Alou is gonna go and say "Get rid of our best pitcher". Think about what you are saying. He is staying a Giant.

But the Giants might waive the white flag. They would probaly get Damaso Marte and Contreas back for him.

Whoops. I put Baker, I meant Alou. Sorry to confuse you.

Good game we got going here tonight. Started a little late but there have been a few hits with nothing much going on.

Down in Kokomo, where we'll get there fast and then we'll take it slow.

Agreed. Let's face it, despite the young talent that has been brought up due to injuries, on paper, this is an older team. This team is built around Bonds to win now. Schmidt is obvuiously a huge piece to the puzzle and I imagine the Giants hope to compete next season with a healthy Barry Bonds in the lineup. Unless they get the top value that an ace like Schmidt deserves (which seems unlikely) then why deal?

Sorry buddy but it's gonna take a lot more than Contreras and Marte to try and get Schmidt. The Giants will contend next year and Schmidt will lead this rotation.

    Contreras and Marte for Schmidt

Dodger fans are the worst at making up trade scenarios, next to Laker fans.

I don't think Jason Schimdt is that great they will also throw in McCarthy who the White Sox are trying real hard to get rid of.

Corky face it, that is not even near the talent to get Schmidt. He is having a down year but we all know what he can do. Contreras is nothing and we have a Marte and his name is Scott Eyre. Dumb trade that won't happen.
