Giants Giants Home Opener: Bucs come to town

James McDonald 0-0, (3.00 ERA) vs Matt Cain (0-1, 7.50 ERA)

The Giants are finally home after a 2-4 road trip and will now host the Pirates who are also 2-4. The Pirates have been our exact opposite so far this season by having good starting pitching but no offense. We should be able to take the series if our pitching comes around. Brandon Belt will be benched for a fourth straight game so when Bochy said he was committed to Belt, he was of course lying through his fucking teeth. Here's the lineup for today:

    1. Pagan CF
    2. Cabrera LF
    3. Sandoval 3b
    4. Posey C
    5. Huff 1b
    6. Schierholtz RF
    7. Crawford SS
    8. Burriss 2b
    9. Cain p

In other Giants news, Lincecum has averaged just 90.3 mph on his fastball in his two starts. Brian Wilson's ankle injury from yesterday was not serious.

Pirates are scrappy, I expect close hard fought games throughout the series. No team scoring more than 5 the whole series.

Cain has brought his A game. Posey had a RBI double and Huff a RBI single. 2-0 Giants in the 5th

Cain was masterful throwing a one-hit shutout while striking out 11 and walking no one. Cabrera remains red hot going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a SB. Huff's bat finally woke up as he went 2-3 with 3 RBI and a HR. Giants needed this win. The bullpen got a rest and the Giants once again score more than four runs, winning 5-0. The Giants offense is on par with the 2003 Giants team.

Zod must be on to something. Not posting mug shots = success.

I bet if you post a Cain picture with a full blown smile, he will toss a no hitter.

Giants win again as Zito gave a quality start but it was a sloppy game. Five errors total in the game and Crawford already has three. Nate and Burriss both were 2-4 with a RBI. The bullpen did well to shut them down and the Giants scored four runs yet again. Giants even out 4-4 and will go for the sweep!

Giants couldn't get the sweep but Vogey had a good 2012 debut so all isn't a sour note. Belt got his first start in 6 games and made the best of it by hitting the ball hard while going 1-3 with a walk. Our left side of the infield already has seven errors with Pablo with four and Crawford with three. That's needs to improve greatly!
