Giants 2012 Giants Minor League News

Shawn Sanford, who was in big league camp for a few weeks, pitched six shutout innings in San Jose’s win. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out one. Andrew Susac is hitting second for San Jose and Joe Panik is hitting third. Neither had a hit last night.

Chris Dominguez played left field and had two hits and two RBIs in Double-A Richmond’s loss to New Britain.

Heath Hembree struck out two while getting the save for Triple-A Fresno. Joaquin Arias drove in two runs in the 3-0 victory.
Hembree should be one of the first called up if there is an injury to the pen.

this is strange: so justin christian doesn't hit for shit in spring training but now that he is in fresno he has 21 hits in his first 38 at-bats.

p.s. which i suppose is a good thing. most of our position prospects are really stinking it up this year in the minors.

It's beyond obvious he deserves the call up to AAA... But, that said, is he a good deadline trade piece seeing as the giants are getting close to the dodgers or is he the future in the rotation?

Right now, I'd have to say he is a keeper. The Giants are thin in pitching so they need to keep and develop as many arms as possible. Catcher is a strength so hopefully we can build a trade around that.

Tommy Joseph's going to the Futures Game. He's struggling offensively but his defense is top notch!

Yeah and he's only 19. He's very promising.
