Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
I wasn't a fan of the Vogelsong move. He is a major candidate for regression after throwing the most MLB innings he has ever thrown at the age of 33. It was just an unnecessary move for us. If Zito doesn't have a good couple of months and we find some more depth, I can see the Giants releasing Zito.

Welcome my fellow giants fan! Always nice to see more Giants fans.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
The Bear knew what LTR stood for because he was a regular here before SFGF was opened. The Bear and LTR go way back.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
did anybody else from sfgf used to come here?

Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
Blanco with another good game going 2-4 with 2 SB. Lincecum wasn't sharp but wasn't terrible either. Had problems with location out of the stretch. Posey gunned down two people trying to steal while catching the most innings in back to back games. Hector Sanchez ripped a single to RF in his only AB.

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com hears that Ryan Vogelsong (back) is expected to start the season opener for Triple-A Fresno on April 5.
Vogelsong just made his Cactus League debut on Monday, so he needs some extra time to get stretched out for the start of the season. He's expected to make two minor league rehab starts, which puts him in line to make his season debut when the Giants need a fifth starter for the first time on April 15.

Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
Wilson was scratched from today's game. No word why just yet.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
Looks like Belt will make the team after Bochy raved about him last night. It also looks like Sanchez will make the team for a while til someone comes back from the DL. Sanchez has done everything to make this team.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
Sweet! I picked up belt in fantasy with that assumption.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
We just better hope he gets consistent playing time unlike last year.
Re: Giants Spring Training 2012
Early reports have Belt, Blanco, Pill, Sanchez, Hensley and Otero have all made the team. Great to see Sanchez on the team as I think he will be a key to this team's success. We didn't have a quality backup catcher last year and it killed us. Not the case this season! Belt looks like he will be our Opening Day 1B with Huff going to LF. Blanco could be starting in CF.
