Giants Giants host the Bums for 3

Giants will be hosting the Dodgers for three and have Vogey, Lincecum and Bumgarner hurling. Dodgers will have Kershaw and Billingsley going for them as it seems like we never miss Kershaw. The Giants haven't lost a series since being swept by the A's in mid-June.

5-0, Panda took LaSorda's ass deep, like banging McCourt's vagina at a hooker joint.

Oh and Vogelsong keeps dominating, looks like he's on pace to win the comeback player of year award.

How can somebody "come back" to where they've never been?

You mean Vogelsong has never been in the Majors before?

Yes Vogelsong has been in the bigs before. Vogey pitched a beauty and Sandoval had a great game going 3-4 hitting his 9th HR of the year. Nate went 2-4 with a RBI and Ross was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Ross seems to be heating up while Nate is keeping his pace and now has his BA at .291! Tejada left the game with a abdominal strain but Crawford did well in his absence.

So you only need to play in the majors, leave, then come back to be a comeback player of the year?i guess Sean Burroughs and Willy Mo Pena should be up for the award as well.(obviously I meant he has never played at this level of greatness. To me Comeback player is someone who was great, dropped off due to injury or slump, then "came back"...hence the title of the award. Ryan is more of a surprise player because before this year he sucked.)

Reading the rules and stipulations of the award, I don't see why Vogey wouldn't be up for the award. I mean, this is a great comeback story. From Japan to NL ERA leader?

It's just a semantics thing for me. He's never achieved this level of greatness....nowhere close. So how exactly has he "come back"? Plenty of people have failed at the majors, gone on to play in Japan, and then made their way back to the majors. It's just they usually return still being a mop up or utility player or whatever.

I'm not saying it isn't a great story and I won't even be upset if he wins it, it just doesn't fit the title of the award to me.

You answered your own question. He has come back from not being in the MLB in four years to become the NL ERA leader. That's quite the feat!! Sure a lot of people have played in Japan to return but none have comeback to this level.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to argue that what he has done isn't a great feat, story, or whatever other great adjective you can apply.

Like I said it's just semantics with the award title, so I won't argue it any further. He definitely deserves some kind of award.

I know what you're trying to argue but like I have pointed out, he has comeback from something pretty substantial and nothing in the rules excludes him from being a candidate for the award.

I care less about the rules of the award than my personal opinion on the matter. The rules of the Rookie of the Year award still allow non-rookies to win it just because of a technicality but I'm still going to say Ichiro shouldn't have won that in his "rookie" year.

Comeback player of the year award is stupid anyway.

Congratulations for sucking and then becoming good again.

Belt homers in his first AB back. He has two HRs this year, all against the Dodgers 2-1 in the 3rd.
