Giants Ryan Vogelsong for Comeback Player of the Year

Are you fucking kidding me? Ryan Vogelsong, who hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2006, has a 1.77 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through six starts and 40+ innings? This guy has completely made me forget we even have Barry Zito on the DL and has been one of the biggest surprises of the year. He is right up there with Bartolo Colon in the AL. Now I know its too early to talk about Comeback Player of the Year but I just wanted to bring attention to just how well Vogelsong has pitched this season. The Giants will have a big decision to make when Zito is healthy. Does Vogelsong stay in the rotation or head to the pen? I hope he stays in the rotation and perhaps Zito get released.

in order to be awarded with comeback player of the year, you actually have to be...good to begin with.

Like Griffey. he gets injured. comes back and does well..its deserving.

Vogelsong sucked and now is doing okay.

Bochy says Vogelsong isn't going anywhere when Zito is ready to come back. "We might have to get creative."
Long reliever is Zito's future role.

Or a possibility of a 6 man rotation?

I can see both the good and bad in having a six man rotation. I'm still on the fence. Our starters did throw a lot of innings last year but I don't know how it will affect the rest of the staff getting out of rhythm like that

Zito's contract is the issue here for him to be released so I see him moving to Mop Up the garbage game role for the Giants. Unless Ryan Vogelsong's arm falls off he has to stay in the rotation as he has become just as reliable as the top two in that rotation.

So we're just waiting for him to rip off his WCW shirt to reveal his nWo allegiance?
