    Giants Sanchez gets extension

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that Freddy Sanchez has signed a one-year, $6 million extension with the Giants.
That's the same amount he made in 2010 and will make again this season, and the two sides decided to tack on another year. Sanchez, who turned 33 over the offseason, hit .292/.342/.397 with seven home runs last season while enjoying a nice year on defense, as well. It's a solid deal for both sides.
Sanchez isn't blocking anyone in the minors and has been a great clubhouse guy so one more year isn't going to hurt anyone. There also isn't a lot in the FA market next year for second basemen. How is Tejada making more than him?
