Interesting tidbit from today's game...in the sixth inning of today's game, Ivan Ochoa was part of a double switch, which resulted in him becoming the 11th player to debut this season for the Giants. The most players to ever make their debut for the SF Giants was 13 in 1996, but that number could easily be surpassed by the season's end. Just another piece of useless information from the mind of me.

Awesome piece of info there Brett!! Have to spread some rep points for me to give you another one '96 was a very tough year for us Giants fans. Hell, the time after our 103 win season of '93 was tough. The only high point was Matt Williams chase for Maris. The Giants will blow by 13 debuts this season. I could see very close to 20 by season's end.

Haha thanks reefer. I didn't think it was that intriguing, but thanks for the thought anyway. Yeah the '96 was tough for the Giants as I recall. That whole decade wasn't all to great as a whole, but there were definately some high points. I don't know if they'll reach 20, well actually they might with all the September call-ups and stuff, but I still don't think they'll get to 20.

Lincecum had to do it himself by driving in a run on a triple. Then with runners on second and third with one out, the Giants popped it up on the infield Now there are two outs and Durham up.

3-1 in the 4th. Edmonds hit a double for the Cubs to drive in a run. Bowker was hosed at home by Reed Johnson to prevent a run. Bowker shouldn't have gone but was given the green light to run.

Sounds reminiscent of Randy Johnson. He hit a two-run double in yesterday's game against the Phillies. It was pretty funny to see this 6'11", 40+ year old guy chugging down the basepaths.

It's still 3-1. Lincecum is at 80 pitches (53 strikes, 27 balls) through six innings...hopefully you can get another inning+ outta him before you go to the bullpen.

Hopefully we can get two more but with the All-Star game coming up he will probably just get one more. I don;t trust this bullpen for two innings with just a two run lead.

Yeah I figured that he wouldn't be in there much longer. It's still be great to see atleast another inning.

Freddie Lewis triples and scores Aurillia. 4-1 lead now.

If you can add on a few more runs, then maybe the lead would be safe...

Wilson comes in to get the save and gives up a run. Its now 4-2. He had an 0-2 on Reed Johnson by blowing two fastballs right by him. Then he comes with a slider and Johnson singles up the middle. Poor pitch selection by Molina. If you are blowing fastballs by a guy, you do not throw an offspeed pitch. Wilson needs to find more control of his heat to be more effective. He gives up too many baserunners and runs. He does get the save but he made it interesting. Giants end the losing streak heading into the break.
