    The Giants Draft

The Giants selected Ben Copeland as their first draft pick of 2005. The Giants had the 132th pick overall. Copeland is a CFer from the Univeristy of Pittsburgh and ranked 118 by Baseball America. He is a junior and has 27 SB's. I never get boners over draft picks because they are crapshoots. So I won't start now. That is two years in a row that we have selected an OFer as our number one pick.

The Giants have had alot of sucess with the 3rd and 4th rounds in the draft, Fred Lewis was their top hitting prospect this year. The scouting has been solid over the years, this guy should be good.

Couple of article's from MLB.com explain how our draft went. Looks like they did a great job with the lousy picks they had.
