Bill Hall is not happy in Milwaukee and is wanting a trade. Problems lie when he isn't hitting that well but does have 9 HRs and 23 RBI. Hall also has 54 SO's in 52 games which is just awful. He seems to feel his struggles are because he's not happy with the Brewers. The Giants have no real answer at third with Castillo and Aurilia playing there now but whose contracts are up at the end of this season. Giants don't have anything in the minors either (Frandsen is best as a 2B) and the free agent class for third basemen isn't strong either. I'm not saying the Giants should make a move now or anytime soon but if he does start to improve, the Giants would be fools not to look into this. Hall makes $4.8 mil this year, $6.8 mil in '09 and $8.4 in '10 so he wouldn't be breaking the bank. Plus he is only 28 and entering his prime. Hall averages 22 HRs and 74 RBI over a 162 game season. What's really interesting is that he is best in the field as a SS, something else the Giants don't have a real future solution for. What if Burriss or Velez don't pan out at SS? The you have a guy who can play two positions but you have to stick him at one or the other. I just think this is a situation the Giants need to monitor.
