The reality that they're not that much better than the Padres, if they're even better at all.

    Both teams are atrocious.

I'm not denying that they are atrocious, but the Giants seem to be showing a little life. They've got two of the hottest hitters in baseball, their young ace is second in wins and second in K's, and their closer has the most saves in the league!

Of course this game may be an exception.

Yes both teams are bad and that's the reality I am living in. Just so happens one team is not as good as the other. Congrats on beating Pat Misch.

Hinshaw is in now and I really like this kid. He should be setting up Wilson, now Walker.

At least we weren't shut out We were out-pitched today as Banks looks like a nice pick up from the Jays. Rowand had a RBI single to put our one run on the board. Early errors hurt us and Misch once again loses a game. The Giants have not won a game in which he has started, awful. I hope one of our relievers is traded soon so the Giants can move Misch to the pen and bring up another starter. Misch just isn't cutting it and it sucks because I believed he could do better than he did last year. I was wrong. Thank goodness Lincecum is on the hill tomorrow. I am also ready to send Bowker down and bring up Schierholtz and even the old man Scott McLain looks like a better option right now at first base.

Yeah I was very surprised that Schierholtz hasn't been called up yet. He's just tearing apart the AAA pitching. Who'd they call up instead...Brian Horwitz is the guy. Hopefully he can boost the offense some more.

side note-Lowry was placed on the 60-day DL. Doesn't look like you'll be seeing him for quite a long time.

Yeah I don't expect Lowry to pitch at all this year. Horwitz over Schierholtz is a head scratcher and probably makes Nate feel like shit. He should be at the big league level.

Don't look now but the Padres have won 5 of their last 6.

    They're pretty hot themselves.

No doubt the bats have woken up for the Padres. After tomorrow, the Padres will have won 5 of their last 7. Banks was a solid pick up. You should be happy.

Aurilia hasn't been playing because he has a kidney stone and hasn't passed it yet. I was wondering why he didn't get the start over Bowker against Maddux and now I know.

They'll definitely have a tough time with Lincecum.

That's why he wasn't in the last few games of the Arizona series. He's still in a hospital in the Pheonix area. Hopefully he recovers soon because that sounds awfully painful.

Different looking lineup today for the Giants.

    1. Winn, RF
    2. Castillo, 3B
    3. Rowand, CF
    4. Molina, C
    5. Aurilia, 1B
    6. Durham, 2B
    7. Horwitz, LF
    8. Vizquel, SS

Aurilia is back in action after passing a kidney stone and Horwitz is getting his first start.

Terrible play in the 4th. It was either a hit and run or a straight steal but Rowand was thrown out by a mile at second on one of the worst head first slides ever. Way to blow a leadoff walk!! I think it was a straight steal because Rowand never looked back. Molina then followed it up with a single to CF

You know we have a bad offense when Randy Wolf owns our ass. He has owned us for the past two years Pitcher's duel continues. 0-0 after five with both teams combined have just five hits.

Rowand connects on his 8th HR of the year to make it 1-0 in the 6th
