    Ben Broussard

    Ben Broussard was designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers. Should the Giants take a look at him? I think they should. I have liked Broussard as he was one of the guys I wanted at the beginning of the season. Broussard and Ortmeier would make a good platoon at first with Aurilia getting his playing time at third. Bowker can then be sent down to AAA and get more playing time. Bowker only has seven games under his belt at the AAA level. Broussard averages 20 HRs and 72 RBI a season and the Giants sure can use that. He's cheap and only 31 years old. I say do it Sabean!

    Yeah I think it would be a good idea to take a shot at signing him. IMO he could only help the Giants, and the Giants need a bat like his right now. Defininately no HOFer, but another veteran presence (and bat) would do the Giants some good.
