Too many rookie mistakes for the Giants to overcome. Velez looked awful in RF and Holm didn't block the plat on one play. Lewis was out of his mind last night going 3-4 with a RBI and the first Splash Hit of the year. He now has two HRs on the year. Aurilia also hit his 2nd last night. Hennessey, Yabu and Taschner weren't any good last night. It was a great effort in the 9th but just not enough.

Zito is getting his ass rocked more than usual!! He has given up six runs in just 2/3 of an inning Zito needs to go away for a while and clear his head.

Zito lasted only 3 IP this start giving up 8 ERs. His ERA is now 7.53 and will likely go 0-6. Put him on the DL!! 8-1 thanks to a Winn RBI.

Misch has looked good so far going 5 1/3 giving up just one run. He should be a nice replacement for Correia but should have been starting in the first place over Zito. Giants might have to call up someone like Adam Cowart from AA to start for Correia if Zito goes on the DL which I am hoping.

And as I wrote that above Misch gave up a homer to Phillips. 10-1 in the 9th.

Zito's Line: 3 Inn., 7 Hits, 8 Runs, 8 ER, 3BB, 1 SO and he now has an ERA of 7.53. Now that's some #1. How long are the Giants going to run this guy out there. If you can't trade him at least take him out of the rotation.

As much as it would do both Zito and the Giants good, I don't think they're going to take him out of the rotation. They paid too much money for this guy to move him to the bullpen/send him down/put him on the DL, and making a move like that would be embarrassing on their part. Not that the Giants should be concerned about their appearance right now, but vanity is a killer. I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Its not about appearance, its about performance. He is doing nothing but hurt this team and winning is the bottom line. Pride is more of a killer. Putting him on the DL has nothing to do with his paycheck. They made a mistake but do not have to keep throwing him out there every fifth day to lose.
